Working out

Second week of September I decided that I needed to get off my lazy butt and start working out. Well I went to a friend who lost forty maybe more pounds while we were on a fifteen month deployment, and asked what she did. I started her routine and it worked!!! I lost 20lbs in two months. No pills, slim drinks, or anything like that. All I did was go to the gym every morning, (with IPOD), started with 20 minutes on the elliptical, 20min weights (depending on day) and 20 minutes on the treadmill walking at a fast pace, 4.6 and sometimes for a few minutes 5.0. Also I cut out fast foods and sweets. No soda! Doesn't matter if it is diet. I did this 5 days a week, depending on how crowded the gym is and how many sets I do, this usually took me about one hour thirty minutes. I also made sure to stretch if not before then definitely after. Since I have been really busy with school for the last three weeks, I haven't been able to go five times a week. I try to make it at least once a week. I use to weigh 163lbs and am now at 142lbs! I am excited. At first I wasn't because I would weigh myself everyday and saw the same results. Of course, you don't change in the middle of the night. But I kept going and even convinced a friend to go with. She also lost some weight but she doesn't keep it intense enough so it will take her longer. But we aren't giving up. Even if one does miss a couple of days or a week, they should not be discouraged and quit. Tomorrow is always a new day. Next week is ALWAYS a new week. Find what gets you motivated and just go! If you have any questions please let me know, I might be able to answer them. Remember this is on my own experience, not a personal trainer's. I am still on this plan, but my friend told me that it would be a very good idea to change the routine in six months, so in February I will start a new routine.
