Working out
Second week of September I decided that I needed to get off my lazy butt and start working out. Well I went to a friend who lost forty maybe more pounds while we were on a fifteen month deployment, and asked what she did. I started her routine and it worked!!! I lost 20lbs in two months. No pills, slim drinks, or anything like that. All I did was go to the gym every morning, (with IPOD), started with 20 minutes on the elliptical, 20min weights (depending on day) and 20 minutes on the treadmill walking at a fast pace, 4.6 and sometimes for a few minutes 5.0. Also I cut out fast foods and sweets. No soda! Doesn't matter if it is diet. I did this 5 days a week, depending on how crowded the gym is and how many sets I do, this usually took me about one hour thirty minutes. I also made sure to stretch if not before then definitely after. Since I have been really busy with school for the last three weeks, I haven't been able to go five times a week. I try to make it at least once a week. I use to weigh 163lbs and am now at 142lbs! I am excited. At first I wasn't because I would weigh myself everyday and saw the same results. Of course, you don't change in the middle of the night. But I kept going and even convinced a friend to go with. She also lost some weight but she doesn't keep it intense enough so it will take her longer. But we aren't giving up. Even if one does miss a couple of days or a week, they should not be discouraged and quit. Tomorrow is always a new day. Next week is ALWAYS a new week. Find what gets you motivated and just go! If you have any questions please let me know, I might be able to answer them. Remember this is on my own experience, not a personal trainer's. I am still on this plan, but my friend told me that it would be a very good idea to change the routine in six months, so in February I will start a new routine.

Still going strong
Ha! Still smoke free and going on the 8th Monday! On the 15th of July I started my first college class. Not very interesting just a class on general foundations blah, blah, blah. But my next one might be a little more interesting. It is on world religions. I started a twitter account today. Probably another myspace. On Thursday night I decided to go rent some movies. One of them was Nothing but the Truth. It is about a journalist who wrote about a CIA Agent. Now the government is trying to get her to reveal her source, which she won't. There was a lot of things I didn't like about it and a lot I did. One thing is, I did NOT feel sorry for the reporter at all. She got what she deserved.
In January I will be moving to Oahu. One of the many Islands of Hawaii. I will be moving to the city of Mililani. There I will be attending the University of Phoenix and trying to get a degree in Hospitality Management. This last six months in the Military seem as if they are taking longer than the last six months I spent in Iraq. AHH! I guess it just seems to good to be true. But who knows there might be a possibility of getting Stop Lossed! I won't find out til December. That is when I should get my orders to get out of the Military. The good thing of getting stop lossed is, it is an extra 500 dollars a month if that happens. My Unit wouldn't be able to afford that so I don't think it will happen. So now I am waiting on January!

SMOKE FREE!!!
Seems like everyone is going that route these days. Well I am, and nothing will get me to smoke again! I did try to smoke a cigarette on Saturday. YUCK!! Of course it wasn't the kind of cigarette I use to smoke, so I always thought those tasted gross. So later on that day I went to a friends house and while we were outside playing with her puppy, she lit one of her cigs and since it was a menthol I asked for one. I only smoked about half of it and put it out. Didn't feel the need to continue smoking it. I guess those pills I am taking are working. I do tend to forget to take them from time to time. But I still don't smoke. I am looking forward to life without cigarettes now. Kinda excited for that one. It's only been a week so I can't expect any major changes. The only thing is, certain cigarettes STINK. Before they didn't. I am not as jealous as I was before and I can go a full day at work without fidgeting. LOVE IT!
Turns out I will not get out of the military before Christmas. :( But that doesn't mean I won't be home for Christmas. I will try to take a 4 day pass. I am sure they will give it to me. I just found this out today. AHHHHH! Oh well.

Latest Plans
K, well the whole getting healthy thing is going extremely well. I am actually losing some weight. Hopefully I will have to buy a new wardrobe for this summer. Of course I exercise everyday for the Military. But I don't eat out anymore. If I do then it's once every two weeks. I went shopping for food bout a week ago. Bought celery, baby carrots, apples, bananas, blueberries, ham, roastbeef, bread, milk, V8 juice, well along those lines. I wouldn't let myself buy snacks like chocolate or anything unhealthy. Even the mayo is fat free! I never thought I would buy fat free Mayo! But I usually have either a bowl of cereal or oatmeal for breakfast, sandwich for lunch and dinner. I will snack on the veggies. YUM!! I actually don't mind.
Well my newest plans are to go to Hawaii. If I can get pin point orders to a specific Unit, then I will re-enlist for three years. If not then I will get out of the Military and go work in Hawaii in 9 months. I should find out everything by the end of next week.
Mel, I got my check, FINALLY!!

Fashion
Well I am sitting on a bench in a small field where we form up at. The sun is shinning, birds chirping and I am waiting on formation to start. There is a brick building to my right and I notice a young woman walking to the entrance of that building. She was wearing her brown hair in a ponytail, with a "bump" on the top of her head. Had on a vertical striped white and blue long sleeve shirt, blue "skinny" jeans and flat bright blue shoes on. Oh yeah she had on the brown bug eyed glasses. I then started to think, "What happened to being your own person?" I must have seen that same girl EVERYWHERE! It's bad enough that they are mixing the 80s style into today's, but now they all have to look a like? COME ON! The other day I was going to Sears and saw another girl with skinny, STONEWASHED jeans! What is going on? I just don't like the new fashion era coming to us. Maybe it has been this way for a while and I just missed the start of it. At the mall last week, a couple of girls walked by in that same fashion, I had to look twice, I thought they were twins. Nope! The thing that caught my attention was, they had bright pink and green high tops on. I use to wear those, but I was 11. They were the coolest thing back then. Mine were white with some pink in them and has two laces per shoe. I like the skinny jeans if they are worn with knee or calf high boots, but flat shoes or high tops don't look to good. Well that's my opinion.

Livin' Life!!
O.K., I am now back in Arizona, FINALLY!! I am slowly but surly bettering myself, which was the first thing on my list of things to do when I got back from the "Sand Box". Started with my physical self. First my hair, ouch!! Dying it one too many times, so now it is fried. So I have to wait for it to heal so I can get it to the color I want it to be. Then last week I went in for a dental cleaning, double ouch!! I am sitting in the chair and the dentist starts to put the scraper, poker in my mouth. She completely misses my mouth and stabs my bottom lip! I knew I hated the dentist for some reason. She seemed to be going to war with my teeth and gums. Then about half way through, she started singing along with the radio. She started to calm down then. Of course throughout the cleaning I am gagging on the ICE COLD water that is spraying on my sensitive teeth. I couldn't wait for it to be over. Then when I thought the worst was yet to come, she held up a mirror and showed me my freshly cleaned teeth. I was shocked! And excited at the same time. I didn't realize how bad they were. No more stains. :) Now I am being more careful on what I eat. The next thing I did was mad an appointment for a facial. I was having a hard time cleaning "Iraq" out of my pores. That was awesome!!! I never felt anything so good. Think I am going to have to go back and get a back massage or something. I have another appointment on the 16th. The good thing is, my face is starting to clear up and the pores are getting smaller. She told me to just keep washing and make sure to use a toner with no alcohol in it. Neutrogena works wonders. Use it for my face wash and toner. Don't have to use much lotion for my face. Just my nose. Also I started working out again. Bought an ab ball along with a sit up thing that screws on the bottom of your door and holds your feet. Learning self-defense too! And went to Walmart to pick up some vitamins. B12 and Calcium. Just have to find the iron ones and folic acid. On the 21st I will talk to my Doc about the smoking sensation class. They will give me some pills that will help me quit smoking. Then on the first of June I will start going to school for the next six months, full time! Oh yeah, I got promoted to SGT on the 1st of April.

FEB 23 Start of the end
I am currently living in a trailer waiting to come home. I am almost out of this place :D!! Can't wait. I can't give exact dates, but it will be real sooooon. About two or three weeks ago I started packing up and sending things home. Now all I have to do is sit in my room, waiting for time to pass. My only book I have is Twilight (3rd). I don't want to read that til I am on the 14 hour flight home. I don't go to work anymore. I have sent off the last of my DVDs today. So what to do? They closed the female bathrooms so now I have to walk, it seems, a quarter mile everytime I need to use the restroom!!! That's the most excitement going on here. Maybe I will try and throw some more things out tomorrow. I am trying to pack as light as possible so my bags aren't too heavy. I already have a FULL douffle, two laptops (one for work) and a carry on. Doesn't seem like much but they are heavy. On top of that I will have to wear my vest which probably weighs 30lbs. Then add another 8 or nine lbs!! :) Oh well, doesn't matter, I am COMING HOME!!! Well that's all for now. Look for new posts I will try to keep this updated!!
